"Creating the Look: Benini and Fashion Photography" explores the creative processes involved in constructing eye-catching fashion photographs at the Powerhouse Museum. Bruno Benini was a leading Melbourne-based Australian fashion photographer. Born in Italy in 1925 (arrived Australia 1935), he studied industrial chemistry before pursuing fashion photography after a return trip to Italy in 1950. Together with his wife Hazel, Benini created some of Australia’s most memorable fashion images.

For this exhibition I was asked to re-create a darkroom, which I abstracted and stylized. I was also asked to design the modern photographers section "Nike to Now", in this area I replicated the language of the back drop roll and layered it in glossy charcoal on a slick, black background.
